Starting with the 6th reform of the Belgian State in 2014, the Brussels-Capital Region controls certain aspect of mobility on its territory: licenses, exceptional transport, masses in charge, etc. Created with this in mind, the Regional Police of Exploitation and Transport brings together expert officers and agents responsible for enforcing the laws through daily patrols but also through large-scale one-off events. These measures, called mega-controls, allow a shared management of the various stakeholders (Federal Police, SPF Mobility, INAMI, etc.) at several locations simultaneously.
Gate-16 has developed a mobile application to encode the different processing steps from the support of vehicles to their return to circulation, through the registration of useful elements (identification data, etc.). The real time exploitation and visualization of all this shared information, on site and remotely, allows end-to-end management of the workflow and knowledge of the evolution of the results.
The tools put in place by our Technical Competencies Center aim both to secure mobility in the Brussels Region and to highlight the activities of the Brussels teams-Mobility and its partners to raise awareness among road users on related issues.
