To run and to release a mega application for road traffic management in the Brussels Region, the GIS Consultant will participate in requirements & functionnal analysis analysis. The assignment also includes the development of GIS solutions to produce thematic maps or business reports with strong geographical components.
Mission
Take care of data management: take charge of the design, perform data analysis and modelling;
Create cartography and data visualization;
Ensure workflow improvement and development;
Contribute to reporting;
Participate to business needs analysis, analyse incidents & problems, and define technical solutions;
Test new versions of the software and make recommendations to the developers;
Implement workaround and changes.
Technical skills
You have at least one previous experience in a similar function;
GIS standards and formats (GeoJSON, GeoTIFF, GeoPackage, GML, OSM) and OGC standards (KML, WMS, WMTS, WFS, WCS, etc.);
web-based GIS extension (openlayers) ;
GIS server application (Geoserver);
python and/or javascript programming;
You also have notions of relational database design and management.
General skills
You have an analytical mind, think outside the box and are Problem Solving oriented;
You have strong communication skills;
Finally, you are organised, proactive, versatile and autonomous.
Languages
You are fluent in French or Dutch and have a working knowledge of the second national language.
